The company Joby Aviation has developed the concept of an inexpensive two-seater 16-motor electric power traction converter capable of speeds of up to 322 km / h – Joby S2.

The car looks as if it was created specifically for James Bond. However, in fact, it is designed for travel, flights to work and air walks. The convertor is equipped with 16 engines, operating from economical lithium batteries with elements from nickel, cobalt and magnesium oxide.

12 out of 16 engines are designed for vertical take-off and landing, which allows Joby S2 to use small flat areas. After take-off and set the required height, the engines are moved to a horizontal position, and the flight continues already in the “airplane” mode. This technology was implemented when creating a NASA-GL-20 UAV.

About the purpose of creating Joby S2 in one of the interviews said the founder and head of the company Joby Aviation – JoBen Bevirt:

“If we can build a plane quiet, safe and efficient, then people will get a convenient means of transportation 5 times faster than cars, which will radically change our lives.”
